Sep 15, 2015, Shanghai-Project HOPE and Shanghai School Healthcare Association jointly held an educational workshop, entitled “Non-communicable Chronic Disease (NCD) Prevention and Reproductive Health of Adolescents”, for 69 school health teachers from Jingan district and Pudong district.

Improvement in adolescent health is made possible by multi-sector involvement and collaboration, including government agencies, medical institutions, social organizations, and family members. The purpose of this workshop was to increase school health teachers’ awareness of adolescent reproductive health, including HPV infection and prevention, as well as asthma and epilepsy disease management in the school environment.

Associate Prof. Huijing shi, Public Health School of Fudan University, Ms. Jing Li, Public Health School of Sichuan University, and Dr. Yong Yin and Dr. Wang, Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, each gave informative presentations. A companion booklet, HPV and Reproductive Health Manual, was distributed to the teachers at the conclusion of the program to help them continue to educate adolescents in their daily work.
